Welcome to Travel Jeanne, a fun and, hopefully, helpful Passion blog about… can you guess? Travel Jeanne is a collection of photos and tips for travelling overseas – with a smattering of memories and examples of what to eat, where to lodge, and, most importantly, which sites to visit.
Having lived as an expatriate in Singapore from 2003-2011, I was privileged with the opportunity to travel to various countries – twenty countries on five continents, to be exact – and, while that is only a meager nine percent of the world, it’s a start. The majority of the material on this blog – the photographs in particular – has been complied over the past seven years.
After being subject to misfortunes such as getting lost on the Moskovsky metropoliten (or the Moscow Metro, for the other non-Russian speaking readers out there like myself), almost disrupting a traditional Maori war dance, and suffering from severe stomach discomfort on a thirteen hour bus ride around India, I hope that you will take some of these tips to heart to avoid the same troubles.
A big part of appreciating many of the famous attractions around the world involves understanding their historical significance. As a history aficionado, another large portion of this blog will be dedicated to explaining such significance.
My hope is that whether you’re planning on travelling overseas in the distant future, are a history lover like myself, or are just searching for entertainment, you will find something that appeals to your interests.
